beautiful botanical prints

Okay, so I admit this is a ridiculously picture heavy post, but I just couldn’t help myself ... A friend said I must check this website out, and it’s simply amazing! At least if you are the least bit interested in flowers and vintage prints, that is. If you are not, I am sure there are millions of other websites that will suit you better. But The Royal Horticultural Society is a gem of it’s kind, and all these wonderfully beautiful botanical pictures are available for purchase as prints! If I could only choose the one print, I would definitely go for the Chinese Magnolia one above, it’s just exquisite.

All pictures belong to The Royal Horticultural Society.

floral interlude

I have been down with a cold and fever since Friday, but am finally starting to slowly feel better again. It really sucks to have a whole weekend wasted like that, didn’t do anything except sleep and watch bad tv and drink lots and lots of honeyed tea. I don’t even know if spring is getting closer outside, since I haven’t been out for a few days now. But at least the sun is out today and I’ve got some spring inside with these pretty tulips!

Happy Easter!

Found here.

Happy Easter everyone! Here’s some predominantely purple and yellow inspiration from Etsy for the weekend, a very favorable colour combination in my opinion, not only for this holiday.

Found here.

Start with this cute 1970’s floral cotton sundress.

Found here.

Add some nice flat sandals, if you’re lucky enough to stay in a place where bare feet won’t lead to hypothermia.

Found here.

Put a bird on it! For example this wonderful vintage hummingbird brooch.

Found here.

Let your hair down and put a darling little flower clip in it.

Found here.

And for the modern girl, a very stylish and colourful iPad sleeve, that I’m sure can be used for something else too, like a paperback for example? Or small magazine? I do not own any Apple devices apart from the tiniest iPod (which is it’s own clip and doesn’t need a sleeve), but sometimes I really want to get some of the really pretty sleeves that are out there.

Enjoy the long weekend!

floral interlude

Even though the temperature is not as bad as a few days ago, it’s still very much bleak winter outside. So apart from staying warm it’s vital to be surrounded by colours and the hope of spring. Hence this floral interlude of what I’ve brought home recently to perk myself up. This weekend I’m gonna have to get a new batch, I just can’t get enough of tulips!

sweet short summer

Summers are short up here in the north, but oh so sweet. I always stress a bit about not being outdoors enough, really sucking everything in so to keep it inside me when winter comes back again. But at the same time, who am I kidding? I’m not an outdoorsy person really. My idea of a good holiday is definitely not going hiking. I love strolling around gardens though, and here’s what you can see in some of them around where I live.

One day I would very much like to have a little garden of my own. But I would have to buy some green fingers too, because I do not think I was born with them.
