Black and white Etsy finds

Found here.

Well it seems summer has forgotten about us in Sweden, or most of Northern Europe I suppose. And even though I wouldn’t exactly hang out on the beach if it hadn’t, I still feel a bit cheated. Yesterday it was hailing, on July 17th. That’s just down right depressing. So what else to do but to cheer myself up with some Etsy browsing! Right now I’m very much drawn to black and white, which is not unusual. I think the last dress is my absolute favorite, but close second is the striped one. And what about that adorable strawberry brooch!? So cute.

Jessica Hische is a genius, pt. 2

So this is my second admiration post about graphic designer and artist Jessica Hische, originally from Pennsylvania, now residing in San Fransisco. This beautiful S drop cap is from her side project called the Daily Drop Cap, that started in 2009. I do feel a bit intimidated using it, thinking that my blog is not pretty enough to surround it. At the same time it feels right to use it for this particular purpose: once again expressing my complete awe for it’s creators work. Just looking at a selected list of clients of Jessica Hische is enough to impress: Wes Anderson (come on, how perfect is that?!), Dave Eggers, Penguin Books, McSweeney’s, and Chronicle Books. To name but a few personal favorites. Dear Ms Hische, I am so happy to have found your genius work on this world wide web, I cannot even express my gratitude properly. Just know I will always be a huge fan, and follow your path from afar. Thank you.

These prints from her Drop Cap project are available for purchase here. Either one by one or as a collector’s set. Oh, how I want to become a collector.

This alphabird print is also for sale, and I do think I shall have to get my own pretty soon.

All pictures belong to Jessica Hische.

Kathryn MacNaughton’s beautiful books

Kathryn MacNaughton is a brilliant Canadian artist and graphic designer based in Toronto. I really love these John Steinbeck collage covers for Penguin Classics (can’t find them there, but I guess they might not be published yet). They all make me want to read the books at once, which obviously is the best kind of cover one can hope for. I am also throwing in Lolita that I think have been featured here before, but it’s so pretty it deserves a reblog.

Susanne Bisovsky’s amazing fashion/art

Susanne Bisovsky is an amazing fashion designer who’s work isn’t just inspired by art, but are pieces of art in their own right, if you ask me. The first seven photos are from her Frida collection, obviously a hommage to the great Frida Kahlo. The next are from the collection Innocentia. I am completely blown away by these photos and would like them all framed in my home.
