Magasin Mae’s excellent designs

Found here.

I am still drawn to geometric design in general, and triangles in particular, so am very much loving almost everything in the Dutch design store Magasin Mae.

Lovely lamps from Minjonshop on Etsy

Found here.

We are on the hunt for some nice lamps, which is more difficult than I thought since I mostly dislike any kind of modern ceiling lamp and prefer smaller vintage ones to be placed around the room instead. These beautiful lamps from Minjonshop on Etsy has caught my fancy though, and I would love any one or all of them around the apartment.

Danish design: Jackpot

Found here.

I have recently found a few really nice items in stores from Danish brand Jackpot, and decided to give it a closer look. It seems their online shop don’t carry everything, or the store I have been to carries old things that are sold out online. Either way, there are some definite gems there I would love for spring and summer.

Iittala’s new sheer greens just in time for spring

My husband gave me this beautiful Iittala bowl from the Sarjaton series a while ago, and it has become my favorite kitchen item. The shape is perfect and I love the 50’s look of the design with sheer greens and a hint of aqua blue. As usual that inspires me to get all new things to match this one bowl, and was happy to see two new sheer greens in both the Kartio and Teema series. Maybe I need to get myself some alternative Easter treats, since I usually don’t indulge in the candy frenzy ...

Have a lovely weekend everyone!

Bookhou’s beautiful bags and designs

Found here.

Bookhou is a small, independent design business in Toronto run by wife and husband Arounna Khounnoraj and John Booth. Arounna mainly works with textiles and John with wood/furniture. Although I personally am not drawn that much to natural materials and colours, it doesn’t mean I dislike it. On the contrary I can really appreciate the handywork behind it, and admire the quality it often seems to have. I am a little bit on the look out for a slightly bigger bag at the moment, and would absolutely love one of these sturdy, but very cool looking tote bags.

Bric a Brac spring 2013

As usual Swedish design brand Bric a Brac makes amazing photo shoots for their new catalogue, with lots of dreamy outfits. For some reason they don’t seem to stock their webshop with all items though, but maybe it will be re-stocked during the season. Their outlet section also has some super nice finds, if you care to look.
