brilliant Amanda Wachob

Via Design*Sponge I’ve fortunately just discovered the completely and utterly brilliant genius insanely talented tattoo artist Amanda Wachob. I am at a loss for words, and busy planning what I would make her do on my skin if I ever get the chance (which seems unlikely, but dreams are allowed), so I will leave you to awe on your own. And lots more pics are to be found on her website of course.






This magnolia is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. It just is.

Pietari Posti

I am completely BLOWN AWAY by the talent of Pietari Posti, who I’ve discovered today via Wolf Eyebrows wonderful sense of design. Not only is his name one of the best, he is insanely talented both as an illustrator and designer. Did I mention he’s very very talented? Okay, I’ll shut up about it now and let you see for yourselves.























Am I right or am I right or am I right? I am right. There is not a single detail I don’t love about these awesome pictures. So there you go Mr Posti, you’ve just got yourself another fan. I am devoted.

dreaming of dear creatures

I decided that I have shopped enough this month, so instead of going in and out of stores (where I usually just browse, mind you) I’ve turned to browsing online stores a bit. It just relaxes me sometimes, especially when I’m overworked, which happens to be the case at the moment. Browsing doesn’t cost anything, so I can decide I’m getting these rather expensive dresses from Dear Creatures as I’m not really buying them.



They are rather lovely though, aren’t they? To be found at Modcloth, amongst other places, for a whopping 182 dollars each. Ouch!



At a more modest price of 43 dollars is this avocado leaf bag from Ruche, that I find pretty adorable. And I’ve got a thing for green at the moment.

Sophie Blackall: connected

Today I fell in love with an artist called Sophie Blackall, and I think I got a new addiction at the same time. See, Ms Blackall bases a series of illustrations on ads called Missed Connections, and I think that is such a brilliant idea. For a while, some years ago, I loved reading a similar section in the personal ads in my daily newspaper, but for some reason they stopped doing them. The shorter and more poetic they were, the more I loved them. Sophie Blackall definitely has an eye for picking up the best ones, and clearly she’s also an amazing artist.

Oh, and the thing I became addicted to is obviously reading Missed Connections. Right now I’m heading over to the one in London!

particularly pretty penguins

These covers are incredibly beautiful and perfect and I want a whole room to look like them.



In that room I would have a big, soft couch for reading and such, with a small table next to it to put my tea cup and bisquit plate on.



The books of course come from my favorite Penguin Classics, and are the first release of their new hardback classics series. I cannot wait to see what comes next.

tip tops that pop

I’ve expanded my wardrobe with some nice thrifted summer tops lately, which seems wise since we’re spoilt with an ongoing heatwave at the moment. Again. It’s rather lovely, I must say, and not too hot as well. Just the right temperature for my liking. Although that doesn’t mean I’m spending more time outside, which I guess I should really. Anyhow, this cutie above I found at Humana. It was a little bit pricier than what I’d normally pay for a thrift store top, but it is really in mint condition and by some Italian designer I’ve never heard of. And compared to a new top anywhere else I guess 120 kronor isn’t really too bad.



It’s completely sheer so it needs a black vest underneath, and I love it lots for its dots and little clusters of colourful flowers!



At Myrorna (The Salvation Army) I found this H&M tunic in pretty summer colours and print for 85 kronor. It looks a bit square here (and obviously very creased!), but it’s got a belt that wraps in the back and makes it fit very nicely.



Being a buttonoholic of sorts, I love the tiny raspberry red candylike ones this tunic have.



Another H&M top that I found for 40 kronor at Emmaus, a charity shop here in Stockholm. Fits me like a glove and the belt is long enough to make a very nice big bow in the back, or in the front I guess, if one should be inclined to do so.



At Emmaus I also found this adorable top from H&M for 40 kronor. I was very happy with these scores when I just popped in for a quick look during my lunch break last week!



The Peter Pan collar and more candylike raspberry red buttons make this one a definite new favorite in the closet, especially paired with a black pencil skirt.

I discovered a new super talented illustrator today, Lauren Nassef. Here are just a few peeks into her genius. Make sure you visit her site to view the rest. I want this book cover as a poster, but I guess I might have to settle for the book.





By the way, in Sweden there’s a long 5 day weekend starting tomorrow, and it will certainly be awesome and a well deserved rest from work! I hope the weather will stay as lovely as it is today for a few days, but if I can be selfish, and I do believe I can, I wouldn’t mind at least one day of rain too, so I can stay indoors and finish watching Studio 60 with feeling bad about it. Not that I will anyway though, to be honest, it’s so brilliant I should feel more bad if I didn’t watch it just because the sun was shining outside!
