grey and orange Etsy finds

Found here.

With autumn grey skies and orange trees, I thought it would be suitable to find matching clothes and other items for the surrounding colours right now. I particularly adore the gorgeous 50’s dress above and the beautiful set of teacups below. Everything is from Etsy.

marvelous Muuto

Found here.

Every now and then I get extremely frustrated with our tiny and fairly plain kitchen, with an ancient fridge and a possibly even older stove that is getting a bit too unpredictable for my taste. When these frustrations kick in, I dream of one day having a huge kitchen, with modern appliances and room for lots of friends to hang out with us while we cook for them. I would love to get a cluster of these lovely Little My pendants, to hang over the big table below, and get a bunch of chairs in different colours. Either style is fine by me, as far as modern chairs go I actually like all of these. Everything comes from New Nordic design company Muuto, meaning ‘perspective’ in Finnish.

Lotta Kühlhorn’s Novellix covers

I really like these book covers for Swedish publisher Novellix, that publishes short stories in little attractive booklets. (Yes, strangely enough “novell” in Swedish means short story, and “roman” means novel, we don’t like things easy around here!) All these particular covers are designed by one of my all time favorites when it comes to Swedish graphic design: Lotta Kühlhorn. Classic and modern at the same time, always a winning combination.

particularly pretty penguins: drop caps by Jessica Hische

Brilliant typographer and graphic designer Jessica Hische has together with Penguin Art Director Paul Buckley created a new extraordinarily beautiful series for my favorite brand Penguin Classics. It just makes me smile, it is almost too perfect in my book. Let’s all just hope they’ll produce an alphabet poster when all titles are out, shall we? I know I shall at least.

green Etsy finds from top to toe

Found here.

When most of the greens are slowly disappearing in nature around us here up North, I always like dressing in different shades of green instead. Here’s a bunch of inspiration for vintage autumn dresses and shoes from Etsy.

Evan B. Harris’ awesome art

Evan B. Harris is an amazing self taught artist from the woods of Oregon. I really love his folklore stylistic paintings, that each tell a full story like a very detailed fairytale, without the need for words. In fact I think they above all are like illustrated American folk songs. I also love the colour scale and the movement in every picture. Mr Harris, you are one talented mister. Check out more work on his website and Flickr.
