Sandra Dieckmann is an amazingly talented young British illustrator, based in East London. Last year she won an award for Upcoming Talent, and rightly so. I have a very soft spot for animals in general, which of course also includes being prone to loving animals in art, and Sandra’s often realistically depicted animals in combination with surrounding geometric patterns are spectacularly good. It makes them both classic and modern, in my mind. It is possible to buy prints and other illustrated items by her at Society 6 and her own Etsy shop, I might have to do just that. Mind you, the list of illustrators who’s work I really want to buy is getting longer and longer ...
