Bird Mafia’s amazing paper cutting art

Found here.

Behind Bird Mafia Cut Paper Design is brilliant Emily Brown, based in California, a true master of paper cutting art. I am just blown away by her shadow boxes, they are simply amazing. But I also really love the Chinese inspired animals. Some really lovely items are for sale in her Etsy shop, I suggest you head on over there right now!

beautiful graphic print designs from Nobrow

Found here.

Look at these wonderful gift wrapping papers, and notebooks, from Nobrow, “an independent platform for graphic art, illustration and art comics in the UK and abroad”. I have sort of decided not to spend as much time and effort and money on christmas gifts this year, but these make me almost reconsider that ... I could of course just get the papers and wrap empty boxes? Or just frame them and keep them myself? Best. Idea. Ever.

Sarah Dennis’ awesome paper art

Sarah Dennis is a brilliant British illustrator and paper artist extraordinaire. I found her via this post on Design*Sponge, and am very happy I did. There is something about paper cutting that just endlessly amazes me, and Sarah Dennis sure is a master of both the technique and beautifully intricate layered scenes. I find it fairly difficult just cutting out simple paper dolls and their clothes with my 5 year old niece, so I could only dream of being able to do something as delicate as this. But dream I will, and I will definitely keep admiring Sarah Dennis, who also sells some of her work here.

Ogami Collection: Italian paper extraordinaire

Last Friday I went to a design fair for a couple of hours, and it was a real mix of truly inspirational and truly offputting items on display. This was however one of the best finds of the day: paper from Italian company Ogami made of stone! Making paper out of stone is obviously pretty awesome in itself, and add to that the amazing design of the notebooks they have done I’m sure you can understand my enthusiasm.

Fideli Sundqvist’s world of paper

Fideli Sundqvist is a very talented Swedish artist based in Stockholm, who mainly works in paper. She has also made her own children’s book, that you can buy here (only in Swedish I’m afraid, but from the looks of it the book doesn’t seem to have too much of text, if any). I think this lady is quite magnificent and I shall follow her career closely from now on.
